Southern Swells

Swells from the southern hempisphere bring big waves and surfers. I saw this guy and could not resist taking a picture of him and his bright yellow board.

Another picture of a Surf Shop in Huntington Beach. The interesting thing about this picture is that the logo is a car? I don't know if the logo is for the surf shop or another business?

I shot this sign my first day back from vacation. There are alot of signs with stickers on them but this one was pretty covered up. It was taken on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

Look what I found in Paris!

I saw this "Orange" VW bus near the Cartier Foundation from this post on Paris Daily Photo. I was headed toward the catacombes in Montparnasse.

I finally get to post another shot! The internet has been down at my hotel. I saw this flyer on the floor while walking in Paris. It was a flyer for an Orange County themed club(?). I had a drink with Eric today and talked a bit about Paris and gadgets (Thanks Eric!).

This shot was taken at Saint Joseph Husband of Mary Cathlolic Church in Las Vegas. I was there last weekend for the Baptism of a friend's daughter.My wife was a god parent. I will be out of town for a week and might not post everyday. It was a very beautiful church. Modern but very old world.

Learning to Bowl

Learning to bowl is fun especially when you are this young. The lessons were held at a portable bowling alley at the Saddleback Memorial Half Marathon/5K.

A People Watchers Paradise(Shoppers too)

This is the Bevery Center in Beverly Hills. This reminds me of ">Paris Daily Photo's shot of Los Angeles takes over Paris.

At the Beverly Center you can see Movie Stars, Athletes, famous doctors and just about every type of tourist. It is located just accross the famous hospital to the stars Cedar Sinai Hospital and is close to most of the trendy Los Angeles venues.Versailles a very popular Cuban restaraunt is just down the street. Also, close by are Melrose Ave., Santa Monica Blvd., The House of Blues on Sunset and The Sunset Strip. This is a must stop for your visit to Los Angeles.

Blast from the Past

This Erica Dee sign looked so retro I had to take a picture. The clothes inside are modern but the signage is so retro. The boutique is right next to the Port Theater from this post. For more info on Erica Dee check out their website here.

Shop at Home

I know this is not a new idea but it still seems pretty cool. I go to Vons all the time and it's still crowded. This makes me wonder if anyone actually shops for groceries online?

NBA Finals

In honor of the NBA Finals I am posting this B/W picture of a basketball hoop. Maybe, I should have included a basketball? This shot was taken at the El Lazo Basketball courts.

End of the Road

I went to the El Lazo Basketball courts in Laguna Niguel today and found this road block. The Basketball courts are located in what used to be a parking lot and some of the roads were blocked off in order to create the space for the courts.

Surfer

Nice Flower

Funny how things so close to you go unnoticed. This flower grows on a tree right in from of my house. I pass it every time I go to my car. I don't know what kind of tree this is but the flowers look pretty nice.

Sticky Wax

As time goes by the wax on a surfboard gets very sticky and you need to remove it. This is how it is done. Wait for it to melt and scrape away.

Nice Car

It's great to see that people still take care of their cars. I know this is a Porsche but I don't know what year or model? All I know is that I like it!

More Flowers

These flowers are in my back yard and they bloom at night. So armed with my camera and my backyard path lights I took some shots.

Port Theater

This is the Port Theater in Corona del Mar. This theater has a nautical themed exterior due to its proximity to Newport Harbor and the Pacific Ocean. The theater has been a local landmark since it opened in 1950 but unfortunately the theater is closed and for sale.

Wild Flowers

The heavy rains we had this Winter produced a wonderful Spring with so many beautiful wild flowers. It is ashame that in few months they will be mowing most of these flowers.

Orange County

Oranges in Orange County? This box of orange wedges was taken at the Saddleback Memorial Day 5K/Half Marathon.

Indonesia Memorial Day

My prayers and concerns go out to all the families of the victims of the Indonesia Earthquake.

Huntington Beach Pier

It looks like the beach is empty but it was actually pretty crowded. This picture was taken under the Huntington Beach Pier. On one side of the pier workers were preparing for the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Tour and on the other side there were people playing volleyball, surfing and sunbathing.

My prayers go out to the Indonesia earthquake victims and their families.

Chuck Dent

This is Chuck Dent Surf shop in Huntington Beach. There are a multitude of surf shops in Huntington Beach but only a few are the real deal.

The Wedge!

Here at The Wedge in Newport Beach the waves get pretty big and dangerous! (Live Stream) Just like Sandy Beach in Hawaii the waves break so close to the shore the water is sometimes less than a foot deep. Just imagine getting smashed on the sand by one of these waves. Ouch!!!! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Surfing Museum

In Huntington Beach just off Main Street you will find the International Surfing Museum. The Museum has exhibits that feature everything from the origin of surfing to the history of the ukulele. This museum is worth a visit if you want to find out about the history of surfing and the life that goes along with it. They also have a great gift shop where you can buy a unique surf inspired souvenir.

Morning Drive

I saw this car on my morning drive and I knew I had to take a picture. I don't know what kind of car it is but it reminded me of these cars from San Diego Daily Photo. click here
