Nice Flower

Funny how things so close to you go unnoticed. This flower grows on a tree right in from of my house. I pass it every time I go to my car. I don't know what kind of tree this is but the flowers look pretty nice.

Stay tuned for pictures from my recent trip to Las Vegas. No pictures from the Las Vegas Strip.

Woo hoo, Rodney. When Bob says "nice shot," that's high praise indeed!

It appears to be a magnolia. I just learned a couple days ago from my mom that the Magnolia tree planted in our Anaheim front yard in 1953 was cut down recently by the new owners. It was huge. I graduated from Magnolia High School. I'm not sure why so many of these trees were planted in Orange County when all the housing developments started to go in in the 50s and 60s, but they are abundant. The ones I grew up with had no scent, so I always wondered why Southerners talked about how fragrant the ones in the deep south are.
