The Wedge!
Here at The Wedge in Newport Beach the waves get pretty big and dangerous! (Live Stream) Just like Sandy Beach in Hawaii the waves break so close to the shore the water is sometimes less than a foot deep. Just imagine getting smashed on the sand by one of these waves. Ouch!!!! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Indeed the colours in this are amazing and the whole shot is just a great composition.
I agree with everyone on the colors ... I found out the hard way that they wax surfboards and it pulls your chest hair. So surfing is not high on my list of favorite things.
It's a nice break. But like at Zuma, it's too close to shore. Too much of a neck breaker.

On a really good day the Wedge gets really crowded but it is fun.
Last year I have seek such a picture to make a pedagogic work about a german song (whose name was the perfect wave), but I didn't found one easy. It was a picture where somebody had to fall from his sea-board and now it comes from itself under my eyes.But this song "The perfect wave" was forbidden in Germany after the Tsunami.
Love this pic, I have a passion for body boarding. Have been most of my whole 42 years of life.We need to see lots more pics like this one.
This place gets really good but is to crowded anymore and really looses it's shape once it gets big.
Awesome spot when this places goes off on a strong south swell. just sitting there watching the wipe outs is entertaining to no end.
