Wild Flowers

The heavy rains we had this Winter produced a wonderful Spring with so many beautiful wild flowers. It is ashame that in few months they will be mowing most of these flowers.

Orange County

Oranges in Orange County? This box of orange wedges was taken at the Saddleback Memorial Day 5K/Half Marathon.

Indonesia Memorial Day

My prayers and concerns go out to all the families of the victims of the Indonesia Earthquake.

Huntington Beach Pier

It looks like the beach is empty but it was actually pretty crowded. This picture was taken under the Huntington Beach Pier. On one side of the pier workers were preparing for the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) Tour and on the other side there were people playing volleyball, surfing and sunbathing.

My prayers go out to the Indonesia earthquake victims and their families.

Chuck Dent

This is Chuck Dent Surf shop in Huntington Beach. There are a multitude of surf shops in Huntington Beach but only a few are the real deal.

The Wedge!

Here at The Wedge in Newport Beach the waves get pretty big and dangerous! (Live Stream) Just like Sandy Beach in Hawaii the waves break so close to the shore the water is sometimes less than a foot deep. Just imagine getting smashed on the sand by one of these waves. Ouch!!!! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Surfing Museum

In Huntington Beach just off Main Street you will find the International Surfing Museum. The Museum has exhibits that feature everything from the origin of surfing to the history of the ukulele. This museum is worth a visit if you want to find out about the history of surfing and the life that goes along with it. They also have a great gift shop where you can buy a unique surf inspired souvenir.

Morning Drive

I saw this car on my morning drive and I knew I had to take a picture. I don't know what kind of car it is but it reminded me of these cars from San Diego Daily Photo. click here

Thalia Street

I took this picture because I love the way beach inspired murals look. This was taken at Thalia Street Beach in Laguna Beach.

The sun is starting to come out and the water temperature is rising! For info on the beaches and surf conditions in Southern California and other beaches check this site Surfline.com. This webstream is of The Wedge in Newport Beach. The waves at The Wedge are know to be some of the biggest and most dangerous in Southern California. Wall of Colors

This is actually a wall of graffiti but when I looked throught the lens I saw something other than the random paint. The wall is located just off Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Melrose Avenue is known to be where the Hip and Trendy find new fashions in Los Angeles. Most of the clothes you find here won't be in the major stores until the next season. So if you are in Los Angeles and looking for some unique Los Angeles fashion this is the place to go.

Shade

Irive Spectrum is known for having themed courtyards and this shade was found in the Moroccan themed section the same spot where I took this shot.

Child's Play

This is another shot I took at The Grove in Los Angeles. It looks like this boy is having so much fun I had to share his joy.

Found this car at the video store. I don't know what the make or model it is but it sure looked cool!

What looks better?

This is actually a shot of graffiti that was removed. There are several ways they remove graffiti here in Orange County and painting over the graffiti is one of them. What looks better the graffiti or the paint?

I went to change the oil in my car and I saw this VW. Yet another post with this classic.

These are Shime Daiko drums that were taken at a Japanese Taiko Drum performance at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire.

I needed to pick something up at Church today and I saw this sign. It had this written on all four sides each in a different language. The churches name is Saint Timothy's Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel. We can all hope!

The Beach

This is Mountain Street Beach in Laguna Beach. In Laguna Beach many streches of beach are named after the street that leads to the shoreline.

Eating Fruit

I went to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire this weekend and saw this group eating watermelon in a very different way. For more info on the Faire click here. The faire is actually held in Irwindale, Los Angeles County but people from all over Southern California attend. There is a jousting tournament, groups performing renaissance related acts from all over the world and Queen Elizabeth I has a Royal Parade. More photos from the Faire coming soon.

Pipe organ?

Actually, this a picture of a baseball bat holder. When I was younger we used to use the fence as our bat holders. I guess there is new technology for even the simplest things.

Stairway to ....

These steps lead to a patio on one of the beachfront homes in Laguna Beach. Homes in this area are designed this way because they are built on cliffs and do not completely reach the beach the design also helps in keeping the water out during high tide.

Carts

All these carts were pilled up at the Trader Joes in Laguna Hills. So many shopping carts from different stores at the same place.

Fashion

Another hallway at Newport Fashion Island taken in the other direction as this post. Not a very crowded day but there were still people shopping. The only thing I bought was an espresso.

Classic

This is the first surf vehicle in my beach inspired theme. The Volkswagen bus! This one was close to wear I live. I have will have more of these classics in weeks to come.
